I am inseparable from my values. That’s a good thing.

As a gay woman who grew up alongside the modern internet, I’ve always been aware—sometimes painfully—of how exposed we are, and how easily that exposure can turn into vulnerability. To be completely honest, I don’t say much publicly for my own safety, out of fear of retribution and harassment. I’ve been afraid of being targeted for having a stance.

Silence, however, is also a stance.

I don’t really use social media, I don’t (often) speak at conferences, and I’m not shouting from the rooftops. I’m a designer, and I choose to work with folks who are using their voices loudly, bravely, and publicly. I stand behind them. I help lift their voices, create their platforms, and design the graphics that carry their messages. I don’t speak for them—I help them speak up.

My values show up in my business because I am my business, and I am inseparable from what I value. That's not my brand, it’s who I am. My values shape everything I do.

In keeping with those values, I work with people who I believe are making the world a little brighter, a little kinder, and a little more like the world I want to live in. I partner most often with women-led, LGBTQIA+-led, and minority-led nonprofits and mission-driven companies doing work that uplifts others—especially in education and community.

I choose platforms and tools that respect my clients’ limited time and energy—tools that empower them to focus on their work, not wrestle with their tech. I scope and price projects in a way that honors the labor on both sides. I design with the understanding that my clients’ audiences are navigating complex, real-life circumstances that deserve thoughtfulness and clarity.

I’ve learned that values-based work isn’t just good intentions—it’s good business. When I lead with clarity about who I am and what I care about, I attract the right people. The work is more collaborative, the process is more fulfilling, and I get to spend my days helping people I genuinely admire.

This isn’t a manifesto. It’s a promise—to myself and to my clients—that when we work together within our values and with purpose, we show up with thoughtfulness, integrity, and resolve. We are on the same team, working towards the same goal, and we can show up fully together. Your mission becomes our mission.

If that sounds like the kind of collaboration you’re looking for, I’d love to work together.
